Dad's continue to Celebrate

Now I can share the other Fathers Day Card I made this time for my Father-in-Law.
Although it's highly unlikely he will see my blog posts (not really a craft following man and I'm not sure my Mother-in-Law lets him on the computer much) I don't share my cards online until they have been given to the recipient. Now say that this rule applies to cards made for particular people or events not those I just want to make because I can.

Does it look familiar? Well if you have a copy of the current annual catalogue it might tickle those rememberers- yes in my home that's a real word.

I CASEd it from the catalogue. Often it's the catalogue photos that make me love a stamp set, but let me say Pinterest also has enabled me to spend up bigger on an ever growing wish list.

The featured stamp set is Guy Greetings, my colours are Old Olive, Dapper Denim and Tangerine Tango. I love the new star embossing folder and to give the colour a little more depth I pulled out the new sponge rollers - wow those are fun and yield a great result. Let me say the FIL was impressed - stated he couldn't wait to show the people from the Caravan Club - hehehe that's a big deal for him.

Do you notice that some stamp sets are hard to squeeze back imto their cases? I have been taking photos and have even go a special Pinterest board happening for them if you would like to follow it you are most welcome and it can be found HERE.

Happy Fathers Day

The day is almost done with the kiddies all in bed.
Happy Fathers Day to all our Aussie Dads.
My husband had to look after our girlies and do the running around for all their commitments as I had a long shift at work.

After a late night crafting with the instructions from hubby - use some of that huge stash of retired stuff you have! Like he just has no appreciation for all my good stuff.
Well I tried can you spot the retired product?

Yep that's Dapper Denim and Calypso Coral and I cracked out my great letter framelits.
I pulled out my chunky sprinkles and some retired sequins to keep my end of the bargain.
There is something though about using new stuff.
Happy Stampin and Happy Father's Day.

Something a little fishy

A visit from a friend bought this amazing card to my attention - it was real WOW factor and would be perfect for a special request from my mum.
You see my mum has Breast Cancer and she is currently having radiotherapy for the treatment of it. The nurse in me is scared for her, hey I'm scared for me I am not ready to loose her and don't like this journey either. Give me my babies any day!
I have found great comfort in recreating these cards with a very distinct purpose. They are inspired by Jessica Williams and you can find her post featuring them HERE .

They are all slightly different because of my fish options - all fish were fussy cut which I find very therapeutic.

Now for envelopes - these had to go via Australia Post - mmm who knows what condition they will deliver them in but I'm sure unprotected it won't be good. So some Stampin Up backing card from my DSP packs has been cut to protect them on their journey.

My mum works for Captain Cook Cruises on Sydney Harbour - she says she has the best job in the world - not bad floating around that beautiful blue office talking about the history and sights of our Harbour day in and out. Last week my Cousin organised a fundraising cruise for mum and these cards are going to the owner of Captain Cook, the crew that volunteered their time and gave up a days wages to cruise us around and the office staff that helped pull it all together.
Mum has a fan page - I know right and you can find it here if you would like to follow her ramblings.
She is a little famous around these parts - with her appearing on Family Feuds 1st Birthday show last year and then oh my gosh she came up as a Fatty Vautin look alike on the Australian Footy show!

Some photos from our Cruise For Jude.

Thoughtful Banners final fling

Final fling for Thoughtful Banners
With only a few days of August left I'm getting ready for spring - actually I can already smell it in the air some days.
To celebrate spring coming here is a jar of flowers - Patty Bennet I love your work! I had to make some of these cards myself - wishing I had done it earlier in the month though.

I use to love it when my youngest daughter picked me flowers although it is usually my good orchids! She would bring them in one flower at a time - it got to the point where we planted seeds deliberately for the floral surprise and to give her something to pick. She is now my keen gardener and can often be found out tending her patch.

So till next time Happy Stampin.

For Australian Customers I am happy for you to pop me in as your demonstrator.

A little bit festive with Thoughtful Branches

It's how many weeks til Christmas?
Oh my golly gosh I had better start to get organised - I've seen some fun and amazing things on Pinterest for Christmas using the Thoughtful Branches set so I though - why not!

Some more Tempting Turquoise featuring in this great card. Cucumber Crush and Sweet Sugarplum also take this card to a different place for Christmas - can you se a little sneak peak there? That greeting is from the Cookie Cutter set in the new Seasonal Catalogue - have you got yours yet? Oh boy so many lovely things my pre order was huge and I am still loving all of the 'stuff' I got. But I digress back to Thoughtful Branches - I do love trees and these trees are no exception.
How stunning is this card - I used the woodgrain textured embossing folder for the back panel. I found it on Stempelpanda by Mona along with some other great Thoughtful Branches ideas.

Both these cards have been inspired by treasures I have found on the web - I thank the lovely creators of this work for sharing their cards to inspire us all.

Another Beaut Birthday

Happy Blooming Birthday!
Says it all doesn't it!
What started as a card based on my friends favourite colour - Real Red this is where I ended.

Can you see the Real Red? It's there I promise - the inside of that big beautiful flower has the Real Red feature. The bigger flower layer has Real Red kissed of once and that's it!
Well my friend loved it even though it wasn't predominantly red.

Want to make this yourself?
You will need Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White card stock.
I used some scraps of the diagonal stripe DSP from the Neutrals stack for the black stripe feature.
Flower Patch Stamp set and coordinating Framelits
I've used these inks - Tempting Turquoise, Real red, Old Olive, Wild Wasabi and Memento black.
Old Olive marker - flick the brush end with the lid to give you the splatters or tap the marker on a pencil for a similar effect.

Please pop on over to my Facebook page HERE and hit the like button to see more goodies.

Cake Day

Yay my little miss has hit the magic 17.
I have saved this card for ages (pre new catty) she loved the balloons when this DSP came out and I made it way back then. Took me ages to find it this morning in a mad panic but here it is.

Oh and since its Cake Day

My laser got put to good use cutting me a mirrored board and a magical number 17.

Hehehe I also snuck in a 21 so I could get a photo for my Etch n Scratch Etsy store. Preparation is the key! Only 4 years to go.

Sunshine Sayings Have you seen this bundle?

Have you seen this bundle? It's divine to say the least.

Sunshine Sayings Stamp Set  + Sunshine Wishes Thinlits Dies

It's beautiful, I headed to a friends for a play, as stamping is better with company, we has a blast.
Sunshine Sayings is a bundle with the Sunshine Wishes Framelits and we used fun foam to make extra 'stamps' to create this great background.
Can you see all our new in-colours? My favourite is Emerald Envy but I seem to be using a heap of Dapper Denim - it might take over Night of Navy as my go to blue soon.

Fun Foam isn't expensive here in Australia so give this fun technique a go.
We cut the foam on the Big Shot with the framelits we liked added some adhesive to the back and stuck them on a clear block.
I will share that they don't clean easily so don't stamp them in a dark colour first thinking you can move to a light next - mmm it doesn't work and I had to search for pad cleaning techniques on YouTube.
The other great ting is you can cut 2 and have them both stamp in different directions - except words make sure the snail goes on the correct side of those (I learnt heaps and should not do this when tired).

Need some ideas on how to use this beautiful set? Check out Pinterest its alive with inspiration.
I have added some of my creations for you to enjoy.

Onto a beautiful Whisper White base I have embossed the tree and in this case snow drift using the white embossing powder. The tree has been cut in Whisper White using the framelits and the banner was hand cut at the end of a rectangle.
The colour on this card comes from the birds in Watermelon Wonder and the text in Sahara Sand.
Oh and there was a load of excitement when I realised even the birds had a framelit each!

Sara Douglass shared a video with followers on how to create this beautiful watercolour card on her Official Facebook page - there is also a heap of other great ideas there if you would like a great page to follow. I had to recreate it and it is just so beautiful.

So till next time Happy Stampin.

One of those cards!

We all have a time where we need 'One of Those Cards'
I need a stash lately which is sad in itself but it's nice to be able to send a little love to those you care about when the going is tough.

So most of the card is relatively easy to read as this wasn't a hard card to make.
I will say though the pretty butterfly was initially cut from the Detailed Heart Thinlit then sent through the Big Shot to become a butterfly. Pretty hey? My dear friend Johanna showed me this little beauty.

Project Life holiday fun.

Project Life - remembering one page at a time!
I have been a Scrapbooker for a long time but often left overwhelmed by the massive number of photos I take and the need to showcase them all.
Project Life Memory keeping has changed the way I showcase my photos and record the story that is my life.
I don't go with the traditional week by week pages that Project life lends itself to but use it to compliment the traditional 12x12 pages that I still love to complete.
Recently we took a family holiday for 8 days - well we came home with almost 2500 photos! Taken on 3 cameras, 2 phones and by the Dreamworld staff between us we got some great shots.
We spent 3 days at Dreamworld including a day at the water park - White Water World that's linked to Dreamworld.
Here's some of the pages that I have done so far - can you see the scrappy influences - I just cant eave anything to flat!

One could not walk past the DreamWorks Experience - We love King Julien

Goldrush Country was visited each day as we all loved the River Rapids ride.

The girls (well 2 of them) really wanted to pat a Tiger and this made their day.
