Scraplift a Scrap Page - Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop November 2021

 

Welcome to this months hop - I got to pick this one and I have been looking forward to it. I don't know about you but I love looking at other scrappers work and recreating it myself. The circle of scrapping friends I hang with call it Scraplifting so I thought it would be a great theme for us to do. So here is my page.

I have scrap-lifted a friends page - a little history I have been scrapping with this friend for probably 15 years or more and I have always been in awe of her pages. I chose this page because we have so many different ribbons and fibers and if you are anything like me you will have just as many. So this is the page I scrap lifted.

The flowers and ribbons on my page are all Stampin Up! some are retired but I wanted some variety so I pulled out as many as I could find and if I didn't have one the right colour well I coloured it.

Kim used a doily for added texture in the center of her page - I didn't have one to use so I cut some velum using the Artistic Dies from the current Annual Catalogue for a similar effect.

I also had a big box of gems of all varieties so I became very heavy handed with popping those babies everywhere. 

Heads up - the ribbon is all stapled to a cardstock circle to make it go around nice and evenly. Under the photo there is a journal card that slips in and out from under the photo.

There is inspiration all around us be it the print on someone's, clothes a nice bag we see or even  something we feel like the warmth of the sun on our faces. Think about where you get your inspiration from.

Hooray It's Thursday - Stampin' Up! Eden's Garden Suite

No video to share this week due to - well let's say user error - I didn't press record on the video when I was making the card. I still want to share it but will need to do another with a video for you at a later date.

Eden's Garden is an early release stamp set and Die bundle from the upcoming January - June catalogue. The stamp set and die set will be in that catalogue but the other releases to go with the suite will not - they are for this promotion and available while stocks last or until the 2nd January 2022.

Love this SUITE? Why not get it as part of a joining kit? Add a trimmer, some adhesives, cardstock and some ink to make up a great kit with this beautiful suite.

Joseph's Coat Stampin' Technique - Hooray It's Thursday with Courtenay

Hooray It's Thursday and I have a technique to share. Known by me as a variety of names including Joseph's Coat technique - stretch that to the Josephs amazing coat technique - you get the picture. I found most people calling it Joseph's Coat on YouTube.

Cutting Dimensions for your card.

Card Base Basic White - A5 or 14.9 x 21 score and fold to make card front 14.9 x 10.5cm

Mat 1 Basic Black - 12.4 x 9 cm

Top Mat Basic White initially - 14 x 9.6cm use 2nd largest Rectangle Die to cut it after the colour has been applied.

Basic White for Die cut sentiment and stamped sentiment piece 9.5 x 7.5cm

C6 Envelope.

Friends are like Seashells for Hooray It's Thursday

  This weeks card made in my Hooray it's Thursday Facebook live. I got to borrow this beautiful Friends are like Seashells Bundle and the coordinating 3D Embossing folder so today my pre recorded video features just that! I have been loving the Alcohol blending technique so that is back also.

Smooshing with Christmas Season Hooray It's Thursday 28th October

Last Thursday of the month for October a I have a technique to share. Known by me as 'Smooshing' because that is what I found most people calling it on YouTube  for want of a better reason.

This card was also part of a team challenge - we had a challenge that was a sketch. I will admit I love the team stuff that we do - usually its a load of fun but it never ceases to inspire me.

Here is this weeks video - it is orientated better for easier watching than the live version - I think I need to work on the video taping.
