Monochromatic Scrapbook Page - Stampin' Up! Scrapbooking Global July Blog Hop.

Hi and welcome to the Scrapbooking Global monthly blog hop for July. The theme this month is Monochromatic Scrapbook pages and I will admit I have never done one before. If you have joined me from Maï's page or you are starting here please hop through and see what the participants have to share - there is some amazing inspiration among our hoppers.

Monochromatic Scrapbook Page

So searching through my photos I picked one of my girls dance photos as it's been a while since I have done a dance page.
I was looking at the photos and went with the grey from the school shorts in these pictures so that’s my 'colour'. I picked Basic Grey 12 x 12 as my initial colour, added some white with our embossing paste and chalk marker. The black is from a combination of Memento and a sharpie because I didn't like how our black marker showed up on the dried embossing paste.

Not sure if it easy to see but before the Embossing paste dried I pulled out our Brick embossing folder and I pressed it into the wet embossing paste just making the impression of the bricks - it looks a bit like the back of a schoolyard wall. The dance is called Naughty School Girls. After I had done the embossing paste I wanted to try and make it more school Yardie - if that is even a word! So I was planning some graffiti on the brick wall but am I’m not very good at graffiti and didn't want to add another colour - man read would have looked smick!

I have added the stamp sets to the bottom of the resource list essentially because you can grunge up your background with whatever you have that works. The oil smudge from Garage Gears comes out here frequently for that!

Thanks for visiting please leave a comment below as i love to see what you think. Next in the hop is Sherry all the way over in Canada - only way we can visit is virtual at the moment, I am looking forward to what she has to share.
