RAK beauty

I received this beautiful card from a team member today and had to share. There is something special about getting mail that's 1 not a bill and 2 totally unexpected. With beautiful kind words to match the beautiful card I was completely chuffed. So Chantini I say thank you for your kindness.

Oh and for the record I love sewing on card stock as much as I do fabric.
If you want to give it a try there is a few simple things you must remember to save your sanity more than anything, don't try and use the needle on fabric afterwards as the paper blunts them as it does scissors, sew slower than you would with fabric to get a better result and if you can avoid sewing over adhesives you will get less thread breakages. Metallics look good but give me grief on card so if you have the patience go for it but I have found cotton, cotton blends and some of the thicker embroidery threads work best.

Gift sewing

Sewing is also a big part of my life, I stitch for both pleasure and gifts it's another way of having some down time.
Christmas has just passed and I made a lot of this years gifts. I thought I would show you some.
Master Jonah loved his Dino's - they were great a panel that just needed sewing and stuffing - very quick satisfaction here.

Little Rubee was as pleased as punch to add to her handbag collection

And all my teenagers friends were super chuffed at the goodies that came inside these stockings.

Blog Playing

Yay I have - over the last 4 hours worked out how to do some fun stuff to my blog.

I have added links to make shopping for Stampin' Up! goodies with me easier. Give the buttons on the side a click and see how you go - please let me know if they don't work for you so I can try and fix them.

I did loose my Facebook page button as I couldn't get it to work so that will be my adventure for another day.
On a side note Yay schools back tomorrow and the only good thing about covering books with contact is the inspiration they give me to play in MDS!

Time for Change

I've been reading about Blogs and one of the things they suggest is to just do it! So I am back and it's been a while. I though Ok lets go with this and decide to add my Facebook page link before I did anything else. What a challenge is all I can say but I think I have success. This is where I got help from mybloggerlab so I will see how that goes.

I have re-invented and changed the name to Bags That One its going to be a blog about my creative journey and somewhere I can pop my photos, share treasures I have found as there is so many and sell some of my goodies if the case may be.
I have 2 Facebook business pages Bags That One and My Stampin' Up! page feel free to follow either and touch base as you so desire.

Busy Busy like a bee - no its school holidays and not much has been done in the sewing, scrap or craft room that hasn't involved the kiddies.
Week one saw us heading south for some quality family time chilling (yep it was cold) out together, sleeping in, playing board games and just recharging in general.
Week 2 we headed to Sydney for an overnight stay at the YHA backpackers Railway Square - what an experience bought back many memories. We stayed in the train carriages they have there - 4 bunks in our carriage. I must say I loved it even the kids thought it was fun. Check out the YHA here.
The weather wasn't on our side and oh boy we ended up soggy. Broadway footpath with its lovely v shape became a fast flowing river that made it difficult to get back from dinner but we made it.
Thursday saw us on a day trip with APT Sydney Info HERE to the Blue Mountains and Jenolan Caves. It was magnificent the weather cleared especially and wow mother nature put on some lovely scenery. The kids enjoyed the Scenic Railway - it was so steep and was very different to what I remember experiencing as a kid, possibly the adult interpretation coming out in me.
The Lucas cave at Jenolan Caves was well worth the 910 step and sometimes wet stairs that were involved.

Tote (Dancing) bag - colours can vary as made to order.
Basic bag $25 + postage button close, 2 internal pockets and appropriate trim on one side.

Optional Writting - $1 per letter for the first 5 letters the 50c for each letter after that.
Thieves - hate them - if you don't have a key you don't belong here! No sewing to post yet - have been cleaning up from uninvited visitors. Had to get a new computer and need to find the patterns I liked again - damm.

Back again

Should I get back into blogging - does anybody really care? Well I care and have decided I should so here goes, I'm back and will share when I can the trappings of a working, mum who loves to sew, papercraft, cook (especially when my aunts Thermomix is over visiting) but hates to clean the house in school holidays. Seriously its an effort with 3 little tornados following to undo the picking up I have done.
Also does it really matter if dressups are worn to the shops - is it worth the argument I think not!
So here is Miss 7 with her pink cookies - made them for a competition entry. Good luck Tara.

Rag Bag

Thought I'd give one of these a try with some Nurse fabric I have had for ages (that I love).
It turned out well - I'm happy with it and might have to do a retro version next.
