Mother's Day 2017 Cards to Celebrate

Happy Mother's Day to my beautiful mum who we are blessed to have live with us (well in the Granny flat but its walking distance). She has been a great help to us as we have raised our 3 young ladies.

The card for my mum - I pulled out the 'coming soon' Daisy Delight Bundle, Tranquil Tide Card and ink plus some Pumpkin Pie. This card evolved form a full panel of the patterned DSP to what you see here.
A little history - my mum is not a flowers on cards sort of person - actually she will say she hates them! I take the challenge to make flower cards that she will like frequently most of the time I win her over. She loved this one so I am happy.

My mother in law loves pink and loves flowers so she was easy to make a pretty card for. I love the Daisy Delight bundle - I will say please when making this card you need to make sure the daisy is not to far over the edge as it won't fit in the envelope. Yes I know this - this is take 2!

Some of you that have been following my blog for a while and for those that haven't, One of my many hats is that I'm a Midwife at the local hospital. We have between 3200-3500 babies a year born with us and for the last few years I have made cards for each new mum on the Maternity ward on Mother's Day. This year I decided to make it bigger and put a load of planning into it. With the DSP promotion during the end of Sale-A-Bration I collected an extra pack of the Succulent Garden DSP.
I put a notice up at work to see if anyone would like to help and between us we ate, drank tea and made 60 cards to hand out! Every lady that our whole service had contact with got a card - so those that birthed and went straight home, mums with babies in the Special Care Nursery, Mums on the Maternity ward and Mums visited by our Early home visiting program. I wasn't at work but the feedback I have received was beautiful and makes my heart sing.

They look impressive bundled up like this don't they?
To make it easy for us we used the Note card and Envelope packs and we worked like a production line. At the time this post goes live most of the elements of this card are still available in Australia. Mint Macaron Ink and Card are already sold out! Loved that colour!

Succulent card goodies still available while stocks last!

Sneak Peek Fabulous Flamingo - Coming soon 2017-18 Catalogue

Who loves pink?

Who loves Flamingo's?

I do when it's a ink or stamp set - coming soon this divine new Fabulous Flamingo Two-Step stamp. The extra steps give some great definition to this striking bird and lend it to be used for some cool effects.

I was just having a play with this set that both Tony and I got at Onstage in Sydney. Well I'm hooked and can see this very quickly becoming a well played with set.

I water coloured over the stamped water as I stamped this bird onto Shimmery cardstock (a beautiful shiny sparkly effect lost on photography).

This stamp set is available to customers from June once the new catalogue goes live at 8am 1st June in Australia. My wish list for that day is huge and I have post noted more than half the catalogue!

School Photo Scrapbooking

I am so far behind with school photo scrapping - 3 girls in yellow and green uniforms for 13 years oh my!
With last Saturday being International Scrapbooking Day what a great day to challenge myself to do 'another school photo' .

I actually love how this page came up and it was lovely looking back all those years - wow this kids in year 9 now!
So Yellow and Green - Crushed Curry and the new Tranquil Tide go beautifully together and match my uniform palette perfectly! I have used some of the Project Life cards and the All Year Long Accessory Pack to help embellish the page. The Large Letters bundle came in handy for the acronym of the schools name that I used as a feature down the side of the page.
The DSP is from the Tasty Treats DSP.

Down the other side I used Timeless Textures to give the paper some extra depth. The Crushed Curry Cardstock is stamped tone on tone with the little sun from the Project Life Accessory pack.
The Chipboard year wordlet and number 2 were from my stash but I will share that I painted it with white Gesso, once dry I used our ink and a sponge to colour it - with loads of coats to get the great colour. I then used our fine tip glue to cover the letters waiting for it to dry gives you a non tacky shiny finish.

I hope that you got to do some memory keeping last weekend. I realised I need to do more - with so many photos I need so much more time!

To Scraplift this page you will need these goodies - keep in mind some of these items are retiring at the end of May - like the Letters Bundle (just the bundle but the stamps and framelits are staying), the DSP and the Project life packs. Tranquil Tide ink is only available to customers through the Eastern Palace Bundle special until June 1st when everyone can get it.

Till next time -

Global Stampin Friends Blog Hop - Sorry You're Leaving

Hopping again this time with my Global friends group - you may have hopped here straight from Sarah's Blog welcome and if you have found me whilst searching the net Yay and hello. Please continue to hop around to see what we, as a group have to share. We may be saying 'Sorry Your Leaving' but I am looking forward to all that's new.

So ---- Sorry you're leaving yummy Tasty Treats DSP but I have seen what's coming so I will only shed one or 2 tears not loads! It helps me that I'm a paper hoarder and I have taken to buying - one to use and one to keep and look at - is that bad? Its a bit like fabric - I go to the fabric store to touch, feel and admire the fabric, some makes its way to my home - DSP is the same.

I love most sheets in this pack of paper but my favourite one is the Watermelon Wonder stripe - I just couldn't cut t up - actually I have a project that I'm doing and I really needed 4 sheets of it hence the 2 packs lol!

I love the feelings of summer the Tasty Treat pages give, so flitting about the net found me a plethora of inspiration and now I have these to show you.
A search on PINTEREST came up with a heap of hits.

This really is one great card just different papers and the idea was mainly inspired by Mary Fish and she has a heap of examples on her blog also.

Thanks for hopping along with me I hope you like my projects this paper is lovely and currently still available in Australia - while stocks last.

Lift Me Up and Fly Away in a Stampin' Up! Hot Air Balloon

Wonderful news - Lift Me Up and the co-ordinating Up & Away Thinlits are moving forward to the new catalogue. They will move forward individually but the current save 10% bundle is while stocks last.

Behind the Balloon colours I just took from my scrap box to use up some of it. Because I used Calypso Coral on the Balloon I popped it as my mat to give that extra layer of colour - or frame it as I say.

The little bits of colour I used are Calypso Coral, Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, White, Soft Sky and then some Soft Suede for the basket.

My dear daughter headed off to a friends birthday with this little beauty - a quick card to make and her friend loved it. I used the watercolour pencils for the background on the Shimmery White cardstock (because its my favourite) - I used the heat gun to dry it a little quicker as I am a wee bit heavy handed with the water.

*2017 Retiring items on this card*
The Mint Macaron ink pad and the Lift Me Up Bundle.

ESAD Retirement list Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to another ESAD Blog Hop - this month featuring our Stampin' Up! Retirement list. If you have hopped here from Rachael's blog or joined the hop here via a search engine welcome. Please continue to hop about the list to bid a fond farewell to some wonderful stamp sets, papers, punches, Framelits and embellishments as we make room for our exciting new goodies.

Will I miss the outgoing In-Colours? Yes I will!

Cucumber crush is tonight's - sorry your leaving - featured colour and the Stamp set is Peaceful Pines.

Not a difficult card to recreate but a lovely Christmas card all the same and way more sparkly in real life. I used this card for part of my monthly Stamp-a-Stack class and my ladies loved it.
We make 3 "Occasion" Cards all the same and 3 Christmas cards once a month together - when Christmas sneaks up on us as it always does we will be ready this year!

Retiring Items Used for this Card
Some items are not retiring like the Large letters Dies - Oh the bundle is but not the individual items so stamps and framelits carry over which is great for us Scrappers.

Moving Forward in the new Annual Catalogue items.

I couldn't pick just one set or item to focus on so you will continue to see more retiring items featured in my posts right up to the last minute - with some sneak peaks thrown in for a bit of variety. But for now continue along the hop to Narelle's Blog and lets see what she has to show us.

Save the Date - June the First - New Catalogue Excitement

Its started already because I'm planning ahead. I have set the date for my New Catalogue Launch so now I need to start preparing.

My Facebook 'Event' invitation has been uploaded for the 3rd and 4th of June with Stampin' Up! friends from far and wide welcome. Hubby has booked work for the 2 days - apparently a house full of women is a little to much - interesting since he loved Onstage. He was one of 3 blokes that were not staff there! I am hoping he changes his shifts - I need a good tea maker.

So what will you see at the Catalogue Launch?
New products - stamps, papers, embellishments, framelits, punches and my favourite the new InColors.

Easter has just been and gone and I do hope that your Easter was wonderful - ours was laden with way to much chocolate and although family was here the whole time I still feel I would like to see them more - my nephews and nieces are the cutest kids but growing way to fast.

Here is a little sneak peek of what's to come - this cute little crate is made using a new Framelit - its perfect for gift giving of treats. This little chickie was right at home in here.

So if you live in Australia and don't have a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator already but need one I am more than happy to be that one. With my new found freedom (known as NBN) I can now Skype, Facetime or message with my unlimited NBN - its changed our lives here and I don't know how we survived before on 8gig a month! Shopping through the online store sees orders getting delivered straight to your door anywhere in Australia! How great is that?

Do you Live on the Central Coast - near Gosford or are you willing to travel here - I run classes in my home that I advertise on my Facebook Page and my Stampin' Up! Website, they are capped at 6 people but newbies are always welcome. I will also travel to do workshops in your home if you prefer and have a group of friends that would love to craft with me.

Do something creative everyday
It’s good for you!

Christmas Cheer with Santa's Sleigh

I love this set and am so glad it has carried over into the new Annual Catalogue, so you can get it now or wait till closer to Christmas even.
Oh the new catalogue is in my hot little hands and if you would like one in yours - coming soon (June in fact) please send me a email to HERE (available to Australian residents only).

Santa's Sleigh is one of my favourite Christmas sets and although the Christmas Catalogue has retired this set - along with some of the other great choices it has been carried over making one happy stamper. There's the stamps and an amazing Framelit set making fussy cutting non existent for even the tiniest pieces.

I found my inspiration form Amy K - she has 6 Blog entries featuring this set alone and I think this one is next. So not much tweaking with this one but I do love the Gold glimmer version!

Want to see more - I used this same set to make this Z-Fold Card HERE. Its a fun set and one I found to be most popular with my friends.
