Deck the halls - Christmas Gleaming SBTD November 19 blog hop

Welcome to this months Christmas themed hop - I love the Brightly Gleaming Suite but for this card decide to change it up a bit so here you have Poppy Parade and Shaded Spruce.

Supplies.
Card Base: 21 x 14.9 cm scored and folded in half.
Card inside: 13.8 x 9.3 cm
Front square: 7.4 x 7.4 cm
Strip: 21 x 7 cm (use off cuts if you have them)
Envelope

  • The card base is stamped tone on tone with Poppy Parade ink - whilst you have it inked up stamp envelope flap so it coordinates. You will also need to stamp the extra berries for your card on either off cuts or your white strip.

  • Stamp your 2 decorations - I have used Poppy Parade for the smaller one and Mango Melody for the larger. Note there's 2 different larger ornaments and either work nicely.
  • Stamp the Holly in Shaded Spruce on your strip of card. The holly leaves are also used to on the inside piece but I was careful to only get the leaves that way I didn't need to add the red berries.

  • I then took my aqua painter with only a small amount of water since Whisper White is not really a fan of being wet, and pushed the ink around for a watery look. I did this to both the leaves and the berries.
  • I then fussy cut the holly and red berries out. Why not cut first you ask - well if you make one to wet and its not that nice looking you don't need to cut it out.
  • Adhere the berries to the spot where they are stamped on our green water coloured leaves.
  • Stamp the sentiment in the bottom right corner of your square piece and another holly in the top left.
  • To put this together stick your white square closer to the opening side of the card leaving room for the ornaments and holly to use up some space on the other side. The top holly is all that has dimensionals under it.

I look forward to seeing the colour combinations you come up with but for now onto the next person in our hop this month Tricia she is playing with the beautiful Christmas Time is Here Suite.

Scrapbooking Selfies - November Scrapbooking Global Stampin' Up! Blog Hop

Welcome to this months hop - It's my month to pick the theme and knowing how many photos I have that fit the title Selfie that's what I have gone with. With 13 people joining us on the hop this month I am am looking forward to seeing their pages.

A bit of a back story - We took about 6000 photos between us that were decent enough not to get deleted at the time on our trip to Hawaii in 2017. I have not scrapped many - actually I have barely scratched the surface of even sorting them! So many are selfies we had new phones that took decent photos and made the most of it. I also love the function on the iPhone that pops all selfies into their own album making sorting way easy!

A Selfie page - well it needed a camera and although I know I used the same set (Capture the Good) when I did this page back in September for our Boys Page I needed to use it again. I also pulled out the journaling pen to ensure I popped some of my notes from the day onto my page. First time in a helicopter for 4 of us - Lorri and Tony have been up in them before - so there was heaps of photos taken with I'd say about 80% of the ones with us in them being selfies.

"Selfie" typically refers to self-portrait photos taken with the camera held at arm's length, as opposed to those taken by using a self-timer or remote. A selfie, however, may include multiple subjects. As long as the photo is being taken by one of the subjects featured, it is considered a selfie.

So on that note I will encourage you to hop on over to Cynthia's page and see her "Selfie" page - 10 photos on my page and I am in 9 of them not bad - wonder if anyone else has a similar number.

Aside of photos these are my main supplies -
