Final Sale-A-Bration wave

About to put my final order in for this SAB - will miss the beautiful DSP but a bit excited as it means there's a new big catalogue getting closer.

What's your favourite stamp set?
Mine is Gorgeous Grunge product no 130514 and it can be found HERE

Did you know that if you buy stamps or DSP for your MDS the items never retire or disappear? How great is that!

So with all that said what do you think you could guess what beauties are going to retire with the new catalogue?

Easter sewing

My paper snips are down and I have fabric scissors in my hands. With 8 kiddies in the family that is potentially a lot of chocolate this Easter so I have decide that the gift from us will be a small egg with this cute little guy!
He is 14 inchs tall from his bot to the top of his floppy ears. Personalised with each of the kids names and their favourite colours I think he is going to be rather popular. I'm looking forward to taking a photo of them all together before they get handed out.

The pattern is from Dolls and Daydreams - they have a heap of super cute stuff if you want to search from them in Google. Sorry can't link from my iPad to my knowledge.

Summer Starfruit challenge

A colour that's growing on me - Summer Starfruit, not a colour that I would jump straight to as my real favourites are the Brights.
From the 2012-2014 In-Colour collection it is proving to be a great base colour for me. It compliments the DSP (Designer Series Paper) that you can get free with $90 during Sale-A-Bration time. I will be sad to see this paper go at the end of the month the picture in the brochure really doesn't do it justice.

Two cards made with Summer Starfruit cardstock and Sweet Sorbet DSP.

Featured Stamp set Perfect Pennants and the burlap ribbon from the occasions catalogue.

Summer Starfruit also compliments the High Tide DSP, Birthday Basics DSP and Soho Subway DSP
Happy cardmaking

School photo scrapping challenge!

We all love (insert sarcasm here) school photos! Usually the uniforms are colours we love to hate and after so many years if it was once our favourite colour - well that changes.
I have 3 daughters so that's 3 layouts a year (or would be if I was up-to date) and in my case that's lots of green and yellow.
Primary school we have a choice of uniforms - green, white and red check dress (super special that one) or bright yellow / gold colour top with green trim and a green skirt that you never see in the photo. Moving onto high school - goodie some variety - nope not here high school top (since you don't see the skirt) is a lovely pale lemon colour - well it was before I washed it!
So my challenge begins - I have last years photos and a bucket load of sketches, 5 great scrapping buddies and a whole weekend. Not a bad combination this should work in my favour? here's what I came up with sorry about the funny angle -
I only got one school layout done :( I just couldn't face the primary school ones again.

Products I used.
A full piece of Early Expresso Cardstock 12x12 - note to self this is a great colour and goes with everything so must get more.
Soho Subway DSP 130140 I cut the letter piece down by 1/2 inch on 2 sides to give me a 1/4 inch boarder all the way around
Stampin' Up doesn't have a star punch currently (fingers crossed for some framelits with the next catty) so those little beauty's are fussy cut then tied with the bakers twine. the top star has a button from the Naturals Designer Buttons set.
The Year 7 title tiles are made using the large oval punch 119855, cut down to give the shape, each are tied together with bakers twine. Oh to make the tiles a little stiffer I punched 2 pieces of cardstock to pop underneath the DSP. The letters were printed in reverse onto the cardstock then fussy cut.
The 2012 is made using the Typeset Alphabet Bigz 127553
Chevron ribbon, Burlap trim and chevron timber embellishments can be found in the current Occasions Catalogue - love it.
The best bit is I have heaps left over for some blokey type cards and other full pieces for the year 8 photo! Cant wait.

A quick note - remember Sale-a-Bration finishes at the end of this month. If you would like to take advantage of the great freebies on offer don't leave it to the last minute. If you have been thinking about joining Stampin' Up remember you can now get $255 worth of products for $169. But wait there's more - you will also save 20% discount on your products!

Water Colour DSP

Another scrap page using the beautiful water colour DSP this time.

Scrapping a weekend away!

Each year I go away with a few like minded friends for some serious paper crafting time. We share resources, ideas, tools and great company.

Her is one of the pages I have done.

Using the High Tide DSP from the Occasion catalogue and the Typeset Alphabet from the Big Catalogue I am happy with how this page came up.

The alphabet has Crystal effects used like water splashes to give it some texture. The ribbon is beautiful Summer Starfruit 3.2cm striped grosgrain and can be found in the Occasion catalogue with the DSP. Remember currently we have Sale-A-Bration the twine is free with any $90 spend

Here is another page this time using the free DSP

The Grandma is a chip word  I have had in my stash for years waiting for the right photo. The pelican he is hand painted  chipboard and one of those resources that we shared (my friend gave him to me)

Hip Hip Hooray card kit

I got my first Hip Hip Hooray kits today it makes 20 cards for $34.95 + post and includes everything you need even the plastic block for the clear mount stamps. This would make a great gift or be a great start to see if card making was your thing.  They are available through my online shop if you would like to order one for yourself. Visit my shop HERE

20 cards - that's less than $2 each and we all know hand made is better.

Card in a box - red

The brief was black, red and white, must include a ladybug and the no 60 - I think I nailed it!
I had some issues with a lack of appropriate DSP (designer series paper) so onto MDS and I made some using the decorative dots and newsprint paper that fit this perfectly. I was impressed how the whisper white card stock went easily through my printer since it's developed a jam fetish recently.
