Sneak peak - Perpetual Birthday Kit

I'm loving the new Occasion Catalogue goodies bonus it's being offered during 2015 Sale-A-Bration.
Joining Stampin Up lets you pre-order the lovelies before the general public so today I got to play with one of my choices.

The Simply Created Perpetual Birthday Calendar and co-ordinating stamp set was the first thing in my basket. Today I got to play and within a couple of hours I have a beautiful calendar and no excuse to forget anyone's birthday.
This would be a lovely gift either as the kit or completed as a gift. It even comes in a beautiful gift box so all the hard work is done.

Thank you for looking.

December Birthdays

With all the hype leading up to Christmas it's easy to forget the December Birthdays.
I think I have the early ones sorted can't promise I will be organised as the year draws to a close.

For Miss 10year old - something special about double digits!

For the Grandma - used my Color coach for this one Blackberry Bliss, Melon Mambo and Basic Grey.

And for Miss 8 - a horse fan big time - had to beg friends to pull this retired stamp set from their loved piles for a loaner as no one was willing to part with it. Perfect for the Blendabilities.

Happy Birthday to all of you that share a birthday month with Jesus.

A little bit of Elf magic

I have a lot of friends that have an Elf (would love to call it obsession) on a Shelf that visits each December. The kids love them but they have increased my work load this year excessively in more ways than 1.

First things first let's dress said Elves - little ladies need a skirt and little fellows some boardies (here in Australia) so I had the stitching challenge- man I hated those boardies and the skirts well let's say they look pretty good but were fiddly.

Some of the skirts

So with clothing sorted my friends wanted a Stampin Up Party and the hostess wanted a 3D item - so off to Pintrest I went in search of something that fit them perfectly and I found the little Elf Kisses poem with a punch art idea. I had to tweak it a bit because the bauble punch is no longer current. I used the Top Note Die to cut the top of the lolly bag after I sent it through the printer. The Elf kisses poem is on the back.

Want to make paper Elf Faces these are the punches you need. You need to know a Stampin Up Demo - find me in the Demo locator Courtenay Heuston (Australia) or email me bagsthatone@hotmail.com for more info and Stampin Up goodies delivered to your door.

Have a happy day.

CASE share again

I looked to the Inspirational catalogue again

Teamed up with my trusty Stamp-a-ma-jig this was an effective background - not sure I will do it on a 12x12 but I was super impressed with how it came up.

Using the new feathers here is another inspired card

Neither look the same as the originals featured in the catalogue but they have come up well and some key elements are you say to spot.

Happy Stamping everyone.

Non Traditional

The challenge was set - non traditional colours for Christmas.
Make a card using any colour that was not normally a Christmas colour so red, green, gold and silver were out as far as I was concerned.
I consulted my Color Coach having picked Soft Sky and here was the end result. I quietly think it wold have looked good in Blushing Bride as well.

The star is the largest from Bright and Beautiful, it is embossed in White onto Soft Sude.
My inspiration came from Pinterest when searching for something completely different.

Flower girl with a difference

I A few years back my brother married the girl that was to become the light of our lives. She has made him the better person he is today and for that we are truely greatful.
My sister (I love her like she has always been a part of my family) is from Palangkaraya, Borneo Indonesia. A beautiful part of Indonesia that we had the pleasure of visiting what is now 6 years ago. They married here but then we all went "home" for a traditional wedding, what an adventure.
We visited the Orangutangs, ate from the street stalls and in general were an unusual sight for the locals. One of the fun days us girls hit the local beauty spa - that's 3 little fair girls, my bottle died red haired mum and I. Let me paint the picture for you of part of our trip.
Flying from Jakata to Panlangkaraya takes about an hour and we were the only non nationals on the plane, I am pretty sure they did the voice over in English just for us.
My family only speaks English, we have loads of freckles to go with our fair skin, all 3 kids have long hair (middle ones is bottom length and red) and one of them talks non stop even to those who don't understand.
I left my 6 + foot hubby with my brother at the family home - neither of them spoke Bahasa and the family don't speak English 5 hrs later we returned polished, trimmed and photographed more than any paparazzi would even think to do. For the cost of $30 Australian the 5 of us had wash, blow dry and trims, a pedicure and manicure. We then had to pose for photos with each of the staff.
Weddings are a 3 day affair with a lot of clothing changes and let me tell you the traditional Kaybays are like mini ovens - tulle is not cool or drafts in anyway!
My little middle child was a flower girl - so I have when I saw the Park Lane DSP range I had to scrap a page with it. The beautiful flowers matched her dress and the colours highlighted the gold trimmings on her dress and in her hand.
So here is the mud map or sketch I started with -

Here is the final result

12x12 Scrapbook pages - Celebrate 9 years

Only 6 years after the event! I'm catching up well almost - I have had these photos printed for ages but never got round to doing the page as I really didn't like the papers I had chosen. This year on our retreat I put the old papers away and pulled out a new pack - Flashback DSP and I love the outcome.

Something for Baby

I've had this bundle for a while, I had mounted it but never used it!
How many of you are guilty of this?

I used the new spot embossing folder with the heart stamp popped on each dot using Versa Mark

And just because I know you love my sewing as well - I used a Dolls and Daydreams pattern to make this little guy.

Bright and Beautiful inspiration

I Christmas is coming so I have started planning my cards and what better stamp set is there for the Australian non snow Christmas than Bright and Beautiful. A few of my customers had bought the Bigshot and bundle set so that also helped my decision with where to start.

Project Life scrap night

A team meeting, nibbles and Project Life! What fun I had - with thousands (sadly not exaggerating this time) of photos from our trip to Finland Christmas 2012 the hardest bit was culling them, down to 5 double sided pages.
I got 1 finished last night or 2 if you count both sides 😉

Using the new card fillers from the Stampin Up supplement brochure this page shows a few of the activities on Christmas Day. The Lost Lagoon colour went perfectly with the ice.

I also like to make my own card fillers using our Cardstock, embellishments and stamps. The new letter  die is the perfect size.

What a Star!

A little while back Stampin Up ran a promotion with the Big Shot and bundles.
I know some of my customers took advantage of this great opportunity and I also know some of those Big Shots are still in the box!
Well pull them out and get started.
The Star Framelits were bundled with Bright & Beautiful knowing that all my ladies got this set bar 1 I thought that would be a great place to start.

Just using the framelits, the 2 smallest and the small star punch here is 2 very easy Birthday or Celebration cards.

Where do you find your inspiration?

We all get inspired by different things and our creative pursuits are no different.
I love to look around me and am often found thinking wow that would look great as / on a card or scrap page. I have even recreated contact (kids book coverings) as a digital scrap page background.
This month I have turned to our Annual Catalogue for my inspiration - what started as one card for a team challenge has blossomed and I am now on a roll. I am also looking at the catty in a whole new light.

Let's look at page 116 and 117!
I just got the Starburst sayings wood bundle (I love the wood) and hubbies birthday was fast approaching so combined 2 things - the challenge and his birthday card. Male cards have always been a challenge as I so love making pretty cards but to say I am happy with this one is an understatement.

Here is the artwork for the stamp set.

Here is the bundle I got.

And last but not least here is the card I came up with using the catalogue as inspiration.

Party Invites

I wanted to have a bit of fun with this one - a Mad Hatters Tea Party it's already going to be fun so the invite needed to be fun as well.
This was made using MDS with a couple of clip art pictures thrown in.
One of the hurdles I had to overcome was the square backgrounds of the clip art. You can see in the bottom corner a little nick out of the black frame I did fix it but left it here to show you in this one. To fix it I just used the brush function and had the picture at 800% so I could see the pixels and spot dabbed it with black. Note you must then 'group' the 2 otherwise the black spot will move.

Flower Patch pretty

Playing today with my new Sampin Up Flower Patch set - love the bundle and save 15% option.

The framelits proved a bit of a challenge but when I worked out the placement I had one of those ahhh moments.

The Framelit has a code etched on it - that's the top and the floweres are the correct way up in the pack so if you watch how you put the top of the flower when stamping then matching the frame is not to difficult. Once you work it out a dot of permanent marker is your friend for life.

So have a BLOOMING BE YOU {TIFUL} day

Check out Pinterest for more great ideas for this set - be warned it will climb higher to the top of your wish list once you do.

Just a quick share

The new Catalogue and all it's loveliness is LIVE.
I'm away for the weekend scrapping so I will do the kinky thing when I'm home on wifi.
Project life is a big focus for me this weekend it has solved one of my greatest dilemmas - scrapping multiple photos of the one event!
I have 'kits' of stuff made up that are  years old and I wonder what I was thinking when I put them together but hay I hate waste so it has been interesting. I have incorporated my love for Stampin Up into these pages and challenged my thinking (a lot)

Want to see some?

It's important to note this child is about to celebrate her 10th birthday! I used the SU Georgeous Grunge stamp set, Amazing Birthday and our tag topper punch.
We had about 20 kids not including siblings at this party so you can imagine the photos - that's where the SU  Project Life came into play.

Everyone made a huge effort to come dressed up and Project Life has let me exhibit that.
