Welcome to Crafty Collaborations Texture Tuesday Blog Hop. This is my first time joining this hop and having seen previous ones from this group well let me say I am chuffed to be here. It's watercolour month at Stampin' Up! so I was not surprised to see the water colour theme pop up. There's so many ways you can watercolour on your cards, but for today's hop I am giving No Line Watercolouring on my card. I have seen this technique around over a lot of years but never given it a go before.
I watched heaps of basic videos and one thing they all consistently said is it takes practice and time. Well these flowers took me a bucket load of time I will admit but I am so happy with how they turned out.
Instead of leaving your ink pads open as you colour smoosh a block into the pad then get your ink from there. It's winter here and my heater dries everything out so this saves my ink pad moisture content big time!
I used the dies to cut the flowers but then didn't like the white boarder so fussy cut them with my paper snips. both flowers are added with Dimensionals under them. extra leaves were stamped, coloured with a water wash then cut to add more texture. I also pen stitched because it looks good. Add your ribbon, your sentiment and Tah Dah it's done!
Supplies:Stamp set / Bundle, Happiness Abounds
Cardstock, Basic white Card for the card base, Polished Pink for the frame layer, Shimmer card for the front panel and for the Flowers. I used shimmer because I love its little sparkle and its lack of texture. Our Fluid 100 has a textured surface and I didn't want that for what was in my head. A strip of Basic white for your sentiment.
Ink Colours, So Saffron - stamped off for the initial images. Memento, Polished Pink, Pumpkin Pie, Balmy Blue and Soft Sea Foam.
Other, Soft Sea Foam Seam Binding Ribbon, Elegant Faceted Gems.
Tools, Water Painters
Thank you for joining me please hop on around to the other participants in this hop to see what great projects they have to share.
