Stampin' Up! Meant To Be stamp set - Just for You Valentines Day card

Valentines day is approaching fast - now historically Tony and I have not really ever done anything about that but this year - well I couldn't help myself! The new Meant To Be bundle in the 2019 Occasions Catalogue called to me and landed in my shopping cart. I love everything about this set, the sentiments especially and oh the framelits are just -well lets say so many options.

Enough of that - here is the card I have made for my husband.

You can recreated this in your partners or secret crushes favourite colours with only Cardstock, Ink, adhesive and this stamp set. This is my product list, all you would need to do is swap the colours to those of your choice. I used my Stamparatus but a size D Clear Block will do the trick.

Let it Ride Stampin' Up! - Special Folds with SBTD January Blog Hop

Welcome to this months Stampers By the Dozen blog hop featuring special folds or fun folds even fancy folds, what ever you like to call them. So many choices and Pinterest was alive with suggestions, tutorials and even templates for all those folds. I have chosen the Joy Fold card for todays hop - even its name sounds nice.

I have used the let it Ride stamp set that my daughter chose from the current Occasions catalogue - I let my kids pick a set each, each catalogue this one is my 19 year olds choice. I have stamped in Early Espresso then coloured the horse with Stampin' Blends. The trees in the background were coloured with our markers in Mosey Meadow, Sahara Sand and Crumb Cake. The DSP is Wood Textures.

I just love how this card has the element of surprise of that piece folding in the opposite direction to what you are expecting. The 'For You' circle as 3 dimensionals over to the one side so that it acts as a clip for the front of the card.

I loved how well this turned out in landscape but have a real preference for Portrait cards so check this one out I couldn't find any measurements or tutorials to help me with the cutting for this card so made it up as I went along. To say I'm happy with the finished product is an understatement.

The Darling Label tag punch you will note has a nice frame around it - that's from the Everyday Label Punch chopped in half.

Thank you for popping in please continue to hop around and see what other great projects the team has to share with you. Next stop is Tashana from Honeybee's Stamping Hive

Sketch Inspiration with Scrapbooking Global - Blog Hop January

Welcome to this months hop with the Scrapbooking Global - Stampin' Up! Group and welcome to 2019 what a great year of hop themes we have planned for you! You are welcome to join us each month, you could even share your layouts. If your not a member already please feel free to join us on our Facebook Group HERE. This months theme is a Sketch layout picked by the lovely Shaz - the sketch photo is below.

So I flipped the orientation of the sketch to suit my landscape photo and although it has the sketch elements I have 'tweaked' it a bit. The titles are cut from our chipboard that's found at the back of our glimmer paper packets. Instead of painting them I actually embossed them. They were all embossed with white then the words Reef and fun were coloured with the Night of Navy Stampin' Blends. The other thing I did with my Stampin' Blends marker is colour the silver glimmer net and silver thread.

I left the little fish silver and they show up in various places on the layout. the close up also shows how great the silver thread comes up with the Blends marker. Did you also notice the new embossing folder making an appearance - it reminds me of bubbles so I thought it was appropriate. One of the other things I often do to elevate my larger pieces is use the chipboard from the glimmer paper again so no sagging on this photo.

So here it is again my dear middle daughter with her favourite school teacher on a Marine Studies excursion to a local rock pool area at the beach. Gosh the excursions are better these days than when I went to school!

So without further ado lets hop on over to see what Sara has done with this sketch.
