Stampin' Up! Window Shopping - Polished Stone Technique Birthday Card

Wow I love this technique! I found a great YouTube video from one of my favourite Demonstrators overseas and decided to give this a go. This is called Polished Stone and every piece of card front I did turned out very different.

This technique uses our new Glossy cardstock - actually that's what I plugged into the YouTube search engine and wow there's a heap of goodies to try - do your remember this card from a few weeks back it was a different Glossy card technique but this card is for the other Brother In law.

I decided on a technique card for a bit of fun and I got so inky - my fingers and nails are still stained 3 hair washes later!
I followed the YouTube video from Dawn (yes one of my favourites) to get my bearings on the Polished Stone technique and let me say it is way fun and each piece is unique. I do love that you can learn just about anything on YouTube.

With your trimmer, Big Shot, favourite adhesives, cotton balls, rubbing alcohol these goodies will see you able to make your own of these cards.

Stampin' Up! Happy Birthday Gorgeous - A versatile stamp set.

I just love how versatile some stamps are - its often a matter of let your imagination run wild and see what you can come up with. When I can use one stamp set and make 3 completely different cards that tells me this stamp set is great for my collection - its even better if I can cover both the ladies and the gents with the one set!

So let me tell you more about this set and why I think its so great.

The Stampin' Up! Happy Birthday Gorgeous (1444662) is just one of those sets that has a lot going for it.
  • 32 Photopolymer stamps
  • Great images that lend themselves to a wide variety of techniques
  • Congratulations and Birthday sentiments.
  • inside and outside sentiments
  • Coordinates with the Classic Label punch (sold Separately)

What about a One Sheet Wonder - how great would that look?
I didn't do the whole sheet this time but you can see what I mean.
Well I love this card and think it could be done in so many different colours with a great effect. How good would 5 of these bundled together, tied with a bow, look as a gift for a friend or teacher?

That new 3/8" (1cm) Shimmer Ribbon is just divine and so soft making it super easy to tie both lovely bows and great knots! This ribbon comes in Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party and Powder Pink as well as the Black.

So with your trimmer, acrylic blocks, favourite adhesive and the cardstock of your choice you will need these goodies to recreate these cards.

Fabulous 50 with Birthday Delivery from Stampin' Up!

It was a friends 50th recently so I needed an extra special card since she wanted a boring pressie (Cash)! So I happened to be scrolling through Facebook (as one does frequently) on one of the Demonstrator only groups and came across a cool little booklet that Hannah Jones from the UK had shared. Well I just had to make one for my friend.

I have used Birthday Delivery - a Photopolymer stamp set from the Annual Catalogue, a piece of the NEW Merry Little Christmas DSP (available from 1st September 2017), Real Red and Whisper White card stock. I used my markers for colouring in the ribbon on the gifts.

The party had a red theme - her favourite colour. I hit the internet for some fun facts to pop in the booklet and she can add a photo from the night to the opposite side of each page to turn it into a little keepsake if she wants. The fun facts and birthday poem were printed onto our Whisper White card - it goes through my printer like a dream then stamped after being trimmed to fit.

So if you would like to see the video that has super instructions including the measurements you can check it out on Hannah's Facebook page HERE.

Some of the goodies you will need - The DSP can be any DSP but oh this Merry Little Christmas Paper is just divine and so much my colours (Old Olive, Black and White)!
