Stampin’ Up! South Pacific OnStage Auckland 2019 Swaps

We are across the Ditch this time - we headed to Auckland for OnStage to see and get a copy of the 2019-20 Annual Catalogue. I was super excited and couldn't wait to get my hot little hands on it and see the new In-colours were.

These are both mine and my husbands swaps. Tony joined Kate and I as we toured around New Zealand for a few days then for 3 fabulous days learning new techniques, stamping with new stamps and catching up with great friends.

I pulled out the Flirty Flamingo and Tony has gone with the retiring In-Colours Tranquil Tide plus Lemon Lime Twist. I will include a product list below in case you would like to recreate either of our cards.

Tony used the Stamparatus step feature to line up the striped stamp evenly along the white strip. He did all pieces of white one colour at a time so all the Tranquil Tide lines are 1 'step' apart. He then moved the stamp to sit evenly amongst the Tranquil tide spaces so that he could stamp the Lemon Lime Twist rows.

Product List for Tony's Swap
My Card swap came about after being asked to make an invitation for a 30th Birthday event. My friend picked Flirty Flamingo for his 'main' colour choice followed by 'any purple you like'. The brief also asked that some embossing in gold be included somewhere.

I just love the stitched rectangles so needed to use these and I decided I really liked Gorgeous Grape teamed with Flirty Flamingo. I have used Birthday Backgrounds for my streamers and confetti then pulled the sentiment from Picture Perfect Birthday - the ampersand is from Make a Difference.

Product List for my Swap
It's with a tinge of sadness - no actually excitement for the New Catalogue - I say that its time for our annual Retirement list party. All items retiring are while stocks last and some items will sell out faster than others so don't delay getting your goodies. Just a little FYI - all current bundles are retiring even if components of the bundles are moving into the new Catalogue. There is no longer any wood stamp sets and all red rubber stamps will be transitioning to our new Cling stamps. Click on the picture to take you straight to the Last Chance Products.

Stampin' up! Tropical Escape Herringbone Card

I needed a special sentiment for this card - one of my long term colleges is leaving. This sums it right up!

Herringbone Card - what a great way for using up my scraps although I will admit that a few of these were cut specially.
I have used Tropical Escape 6" X 6" (15.2 X 15.2 Cm) Designer Series Paper on a Tranquil Tide background.

Mixed Media Scrapbook Page - Scrapbooking Global March Blog Hop

Welcome to this months hop with the Scrapbooking Global - Stampin' Up! You are welcome to join us each month, you could even share your layouts. If your not a member already please feel free to join us on our Facebook Group HERE. This months theme is 'Mixed Media' and I will let you in on a little secret it was a challenge for me to get my head around it. Why you say well I am thinking most pages I do are mixed media - a little bit of paper, a little ink, paint, maybe some embossing and definitely some fibre, so I was really over thinking where to start!

This was a beautiful page with some amazing memories that go with it. Some of you know I lost my brother unexpectedly in September last year. It's a difficult journey we are all still traveling on. In 2008 my brother married the love of his life Ferty, and my little Miss Maeve who was just shy of 6 at the time was a flower girl at both of their weddings. This photo is from our Australian 'surprise' backyard wedding that they sprung on us at our Christmas do that year. I am slowly putting pages together not only for my children but for his - Scrapbooking allows us to share our memories and our stories. Today this is mine.

Taken on a beautiful summers Day December 21st 2008, Maeve was so chuffed to be the flower girl for her God Fathers wedding. The wedding party snuck out across the street to get ready with only my husband I being aware of what was happening.

The leaves that frame the main photo are all die-cut from coloured vellum. The Sponge Brayers (141714) allowed me to give the velum a light tinge in Soft Sea Foam, Old Olive and Tranquil Tide. The die-cuts were made after colouring the vellum then stacked to add some visual interest. I have a lot of framelits and dies (to many if you ask Tony but hey what would he know?) so I pulled from numerous sets for my 'foliage'.
I have added Wink of Stella to some of the pieces to give them a little 'lift'. The title is the only thing not Stampin' Up! The DSP piece was initially embossed, then splattered with ink in Tranquil Tide. I have added the small frosted flower embellishments for something a little extra.
Thank you for hopping in today please leave a comment below to say Hi then hit the 'NEXT' button to go globe trotting over to see what Heike has to share.
