Lets Celebrate Birthdays and Babies

A new baby and a birthday makes for a full weekend.

Decided to give the block card a go and see how it turned out. I searched Pinterest for some inspiration and only found a little but enough to get me going. Dawn has a YouTube video that includes the dimensions so with note pad in hand and itube recording I set about creating this little beauty.

With the baby card sorted next on the list was a birthday for my friends 40th. Using the new Balloons and their framelits, this was well received and looked great posted on her Facebook wall today.

Fine Feathers or gum leaves.

I prepared these cards for my Stamp A Stack classes this month.
I had not purchased the feathers set, was not convinced I really liked it so I waited, now it's a returning favourite in the current occasions catalogue (download a copy from here) and I had some hostess rewards $ to spend so I bit the bullet and added it to the cart.
Pinterest is alive with a lot of inspiring samples and I fell in love with the emboss resist one I saw from the lovely LeeAnn over at Flowerbug's Inkspot (North Dakota), she even did a video.

So I did what I normally do and tweaked what I loved about the cards I had seen.

Using white emboss your feathers into a 2" strip of WW the width of your card. Using a sponge, sponge over the area to add colour.
I used - strawberry slush and Crisp Cantelope on a Strawberry Slush base,
Tangerine Tango with Wild Wasabi (looks like gum leaves) and the other one is Coastal Cabana with Wild Wasabi - Sorry in advance for adding to your wish list.
Score lines to accentuate the decorative piece using the Simply Scored, you could use your score tool on the trimmer I just really like the lines from the Simply Scored as they are thicker.
I embossed feathers onto the coloured base cut them out of there for the accent feathers if you stay away from the edge you wouldn't know it. LeeAnn masked the WW off with post notes so her top was one piece - I didn't have post notes big enough hence the 2"strip.

I'm thinking gum nuts and gum leaves might be a tweak with this lot.

Below is a list of what you need aside of card and ink because that part will work with what you already have. Oh and I have popped the Big Shot on there but if you don't have one its not to hard to fussy cut these feathers.

Happy stamping.

Schools back soon!

Just a quick share - busy week with school going back. The prep is huge and of course I've left it till the last days!
Chuck in a few birthdays to the mix well you understand.

Birthdays are covered and there should always be balloons involved (as long as they are not in my car)

Book coverings are made extra special and definitely unique with stamps.

Science is very - well festive.

Lotus Blossom lovelies

I love a Stampin Up event - I get to put faces to team members from far and wide, we share ideas, craft together, learn new techniques but most of all have a ton of fun.
Stampin Up Party Time came to Sydney a one day event we didn't do swaps but all made our own name tags. My aunt made my base but like anything I need to tizz it up.
Have you seen the Lotus Blossom stamp set - free with a $90au spend during Sale-A-Bration? I love it.

So I decided to have a play with some colours with no intention of making a card but hey you know how it all ends!

I loved the results so much the ID badge was the first thing that got the Lotus treatment.
Then I though why not - a quick card was in order.

Happy Stamping

Sneak peak - Perpetual Birthday Kit

I'm loving the new Occasion Catalogue goodies bonus it's being offered during 2015 Sale-A-Bration.
Joining Stampin Up lets you pre-order the lovelies before the general public so today I got to play with one of my choices.

The Simply Created Perpetual Birthday Calendar and co-ordinating stamp set was the first thing in my basket. Today I got to play and within a couple of hours I have a beautiful calendar and no excuse to forget anyone's birthday.
This would be a lovely gift either as the kit or completed as a gift. It even comes in a beautiful gift box so all the hard work is done.

Thank you for looking.
Feel free to visit my store http://bagsthatone.stampinup.net/

December Birthdays

With all the hype leading up to Christmas it's easy to forget the December Birthdays.
I think I have the early ones sorted can't promise I will be organised as the year draws to a close.

For Miss 10year old - something special about double digits!

For the Grandma - used my Color coach for this one Blackberry Bliss, Melon Mambo and Basic Grey.

And for Miss 8 - a horse fan big time - had to beg friends to pull this retired stamp set from their loved piles for a loaner as no one was willing to part with it. Perfect for the Blendabilities.

Happy Birthday to all of you that share a birthday month with Jesus.
