Window box thinking of you greeting card

Make a card, send a card!
Sometimes it’s nice to get mail just because. What’s the main reason you give cards?

About Greeting Cards – General Facts
• Americans purchase approximately 6.5 billion greeting cards each year. Annual retail sales of greeting cards are estimated between $7 and $8 billion.

• The most popular Everyday card-sending occasion by far is Birthday, followed by a number of secondary occasions that include Sympathy, Thank You, Wedding, Thinking of You, Get Well, New Baby and Congratulations.

• The most popular Seasonal cards are Christmas cards, with some 1.6 billion units purchased (including boxed cards). This is followed by cards for Valentine’s Day (145 million units, not including classroom valentines), Mother’s Day (133 million units), Father’s Day (90 million units), Graduation (67 million units), Easter (57 million units), Halloween (21 million units), Thanksgiving (15 million units) and St. Patrick's Day (7 million units).

• Women purchase an estimated 80% of all greeting cards. Women spend more time choosing a card than men, and are more likely to buy several cards at once.

• Seven out of 10 card buyers surveyed consider greeting cards “absolutely” or “almost” essential to them. Eight out of 10 of these buyers expect their purchases to remain the same going forward. Of the balance, twice as many card buyers say they will "increase" their purchasing as say they will "decrease" their purchasing in the coming year.

• Younger card buyers and those who are more technology savvy are currently the ones most engaged in buying paper greeting cards online.

• Most people now acknowledge many more birthdays than ever before because of Facebook, but they aren’t necessarily sending fewer cards as a result.

• The tradition of giving greeting cards as a meaningful expression of personal affection for another person is still being deeply ingrained in today’s youth, and this tradition will likely continue as they become adults and become responsible for managing their own important relationships.

mmmm Interesting

Amazing Celebrations Baby Boy Card

Something exciting - a new baby - being a midwife all new babies are super special but when they belong to a friend (that swore she was never having kids) there is something extra squishy and cute about them.

This little guy was 4 weeks early and born the day after another friend had her bubba - poles apart they were in size with one being a squidgy 2.4kg whilst the other was a whopping 5.1kg!

I pulled out some new and some old for this one.

Shopping List - you also need your trimmer and adhesives.

Stampin' Up! Colour Challenge Blog Hop - Global Stamping Friends

Hello and welcome back to another Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop. We have 19 Hoppers with us today - you may have hopped here all the way from Amanda's Blog in Canada.

We have a colour challenge for you - Early Espresso, Island Indigo and my favourite Lemon lime Twist.

Is it now I admit these ink pads sat on my table all week with me trying to decide what to do with them! Well my pre-reserved Stamparatus arrived on Thursday so I have been experimenting with these inks and my new 'toy'.

I am in love with the whole thing but the hinge - wow love how it hops and I can't wait to see what I come up with when I'm away scrapping with it next week! My car front I wanted the ink stamped off so rather than waste it I have a solid - well darker version of the Lemon Lime Twist and Island Indigo for later use. I just slipped another piece on top of my front without a magnet but butted up against the other one stamped then moved it to stamp again on my card.

Well short and sweet from me this time - till next time please hop on over to see what Angelique has to share with us - I love her stuff!

Stampin’ Up! Christmas Gift Tags

Lets get prepared - Christmas comes around really fast so I have joined a Facebook group to help me get sorted. This is another group that's the more the merrier and the only requirements is a love of Stamping and creating - You will find this group HERE. The first month saw us making 10 tags for Christmas - I made mine all the same but others made 10 different ones. If you are on social media they are running with the tag #christmaschallengestampathon2018 - if you are in the USA, UK or Australia and participate then you can even win a prize at the end of the year.

The aim of the group is to get your creative juices flowing and to assist with getting in front and ready for Christmas. These are the stamp sets I used on my tags.
