Stampin' Up! OnStage Sydney April 2014 Swaps

OnStage {a 6monthly event for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators around the world}.

A tradition at Stampin' Up events is the 'Swap' and I love it. I made 50 cards as my swaps in 2 of my favourite colours, we make as many swaps as we like but they are usually all the same or very similar as some techniques don't let us be so consistent.

These 3 carrots were a special gift and each for a different reason. Easter is coming and I needed some way of packing some special Bone folders I engraved to give, oh and Easter eggs. My mother suggested the carrot so I found a template online and got to work. The template cane be found HERE if you would like to make your own. This PAGE has some examples and some tips on the carrot making also.

I printed the carrot template then traced it onto the Peekaboo Peach Incolour DSP - I got 2 out of each 12x12 piece. I used the dot side as then it didn't matter which way I put the template. The top is our lovely Ruched Ribbon in Emerald Envy with a tag attached with linen thread.

To make the carrot you will need these plus any sentiment and tag feature you like I used the Stitched Framelits and the Layering Squares.
Onto my swaps for everyone to enjoy - well 50 people anyway as I didn't make 550 of them and that's about how many people I counted in Sydney!
I love the faux watercolour technique using Blooms & Wishes - where you stamp then wash over with aqua painter let it dry then repeat. So that's what I did for my flowers.
The colour choice was Crushed Curry or Sweet Sugarplum - and the Sweet Sugarplum ones went first.

If you saw my previous post then you would know that my Husband Tony joined me as a supporting Demonstrator - he made his own swaps cased from Kaitlyn and tweaked - he said he saw another similar but I couldn't find it when I went looking so I could tag their page.

So this is my haul of swaps all set up ready for my team meeting on Saturday. So many different ideas and between the 2 of us we only ended up with about 4 double ups.

So till next time with some sneak peeks of what is moving forward or even a little look at what's in my big brown box when it arrives - of how exciting!

Oh What a Day - Sydney Onstage April 2017

Not a hint in sight but so much fun and some great big smiles from Luna Park Sydney.
April 2017 OnStage Local event for the release of the new Stampin' Up! Catalogue.
Tony joined me so this takes sharing what you love to a great place. We had a blast and made the most of the weekend playing Tourist only an hour or so south of home.

If you are visiting Australia, Sydney Harbour has so many fun things to do and great places to explore for all the family.

The view from our hotel in North Sydney was lovely - I know why they are booked out years in advance for New Years Eve! It took us all of 5 minutes to walk to the train station and then we headed to Town Hall and then on to China Town.
After dinner in Dixon Street we found Extreme Gelato - Oh boy even if you don't eat there its worth a visit to watch them make the ice-cream!

Then onto the markets for a little shopping - got my 3 girls the cutest little poodle purse from Woof VS Meow and yes they will post your purchase!

OnStage morning the dawn was beautiful and another cruise ship came in.

Let the fun begin! No rides for us today but we took a few happy Luna Park snaps. Its our 20 year wedding anniversary next month - do you love our new get up?

Photos with the staff - a must - Janette and Ana from the Sydney office.

After the days events we needed to continue partying so off to the Pub again at Luna Park to chat and compare what we got out of the day. What was your most memorable thing, what made the light bulb go Bing and chat some more with new friends.

I loved the day - actually the whole weekend and until next time Thank You for joining me, Happy Stamping.

My Favourite Bundle Dragonfly Dreams Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop 8

Hello again my friends from all over the world welcome to our global hop. Thank you for joining me from Sarah's Blog I hope you are enjoying the hop around the world with Anja next. We were asked to pick our favourite Bundle for either current catalogue - that's a big ask as there is more than one I love. I have chosen Dragonfly Dreams because there is so much to love.

My favourite saying is 'Fairies fly on the wings of Dragonflies - see one and make a wish'

Out came the Watercolor Pencils and I decided to play on the Shimmery white card as well. The dominant colour here is Pacific Point but I also used the Bermuda Bay Pencil for the background.

The gold looks lovely - as does the addition of a little splatter thanks to the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.

So how about another variation? Silver ribbon and a couple of pearls with the dragonflies cut from Shimmery cardstock so they sparkle just a little.

And this is for my friends that love PINK - saving this card for my cousins birthday in September! I used 4 pencils from the set to give this lovely background and how great does that Silver glimmer paper look?

Crushed Curry Blooms & Wishes What's not to Love?

Some more Blooms & Wishes for you.
This set has seen a lot of ink at my place and there's more card shares to come with this one - I am really enjoying how versatile it is.

So you have looked at the card and are now thinking mmm those little leaves are not in that stamp set! Where are they from they are not on the supplies list below - they are in fact the little flowers that I have also used for the centres in Peekaboo Peach - they are coloured with the marker so I only put ink on 3 petals at a time to give the illusion of leaves.

The other thing I did was give each Crushed Curry flower a quick brush over with the Aqua painters to 'wash' them out a little more.
Tip of the day - use Shimmery White Cardstock not Whisper White as its not a fan of water.
