Love You To Pieces Valentines Day or Anniversary Card - Stampin' Up! Australia

Valentines Day - do you spoil your loved one every day or save it special for this one day?
After 22 years Tony and I don't buy into the commercialism of Valentines Day but we are teaching our daughters what to expect and what is expected so this year we made it more of a big deal than normal. Here is a sneak peek of the card I made for Tony that I will be sharing at a later date so watch this space.

My daughter needed a card and run out of time so I was called in to help with her card whilst she got dressed for her date - with the colours picked, the elements done, well those that had to be on the card and her stamp choices for sentiments on blocks ready to go I got to work.

With a very quick brief of what she had in mind this is the card I 'finished' for her, and she loved it! Let me say so did the young man who received it.

The  puzzle pieces are embossed in gold to match the foil elements. My daughter loves puzzles so this meant that little bit more. I was surprised (and so was the recipient) there wasn't a Pineapple to be seen! Click the link below to see or shop for the resources to make this card.

Sketch Challenge: Scrapbooking Global February 2020 Blog Hop

Welcome to this months hop with Scrapbookers from all over the world. This month we are working with a sketch so I am looking forward to seeing what everyone does with it. Below is our sketch that Sharon has chosen to be our inspiration. Not only did I have fun drawing up her sketch for her but then I had a heap of fun working on my layers for it. If you are already hopping along - welcome to the other side of the globe from Maï's blog.

This is my page - it was a difficult one for me to scrap this month with loosing this fur baby still very raw. I was looking through photos for my kids as they wanted them for their pin boards in their rooms and though this photo would be perfect although I did also have another in mind.

Briefly - the colour wash on the designer series paper cam from Petal Pink re-inker mixed with a little alcohol then spritzed onto the area I wanted the colour.
I used Very Versailles to stamp the script in Sahara Sand and the petal pink row of 'lace'.
The Petal Pink Organdy Ribbon I heated with the heat gun to make it crinkle - careful you don't burn holes though.
My title is cut from the grey board that comes with the specialty DSP to support and protect it. I then inked it up with Versamak and embossed it with black embossing powder. It's such an easy way to get a striking glossy title.

Want to see me in super speedy mode create this page? Here is the video I took whilst creating - the actual page took me just over 90 minutes without my original planning.

Please feel free to leave a comment below as I'd love to know what you think. Now lets hop on over to see what Cheryl has to share with us and her take on this sketch.

Anything but a card - Magnolia Decor frame. SBTD February Blog Hop

Welcome to the February edition of the SBTD blog hop. This month is the month of love but instead of doing a valentines project I went for a decor Item I could have on display all year round.

Initially the Magnolia Lane bundle was not top of my list but the more projects I saw on Pinterest featuring it made me fall in love. I looked and looked at this image and said to myself its screaming to be paper toled so that's what I did. I initially started with 4 images but ended up needing parts of another 2 to complete this flower. Working from a full image upwards until there was no more layers left.

Each image was coloured as similar as I could make them and then I added it to a 6x4 window box frame  that could sit on my shelf in the craft room. The flower and leaves were coloured with blends and looks just like the Magnolia that was growing at our first home. The sentiment is white embossed on Mossy meadow Cardstock that has been sent through the Subtle Dynamic Embossing folder for some extra texture.

Now without further ado please head on over to see what Andy & Sarah have to share with us.

If you would like to see one of my watercolour cards made with this beautiful Magnolia it can be found HERE.
